Office Measurements

The difference between Squares and Square Metres (m2)

A "square" is an Australian measurement of home area. One square is exactly 10 x 10 feet, which makes 1 square = 9.3 m2 approximately.

How to measure your office

If you do not know the size of your office, the easiest way to measure it is in square metres. Multiply the width (in metres) by the length (in metres) and you will have the size of your office in square metres.

For example:

6 metres x 31 metres = 186 m2.

186 m2 / 9.3 = 20 squares.

You could say your office is 186 m2 or 20 squares.
